| FORMED 2004 | The League was formed in 2004 on the demise of the Sussex Girl's League.
Originally the League was formed to cater for Women only but was asked by the SCFA if they would assist in taking on the Clubs from the defunct Sussex Girl's League at short notice.
The Officers and Club Representatives in the early stages were made up mostly of SCFA Council Members, SCFA Employees and ex-Sussex Girl's League members.
Up until Season 2005/2006 the League had divisions that played 9-a-side football but apart from the Mini-Soccer section all divisions are now the full 11-a-side.
In June 2007 the League signed-up to become members of the National Women's Pyramid System.
The League Management Committee for Season 2007/2008 apart from the Club Representatives is made up entirely of people who have no connection to Clubs, this situation must be very unique at this level of football.
Towards the end of the season the League learnt that they would require the need of a League Welfare Officer and were moved quickly to appoint Emma Howard.
Season 2008/2009 started as the previous season with numerous withdrawals by Clubs which does take the gloss of a start to a new season for the League Officials.
The League have a new Vice-Chairman in Chris Cooper and Russell Brooks steps in as Referees Secretary. Both former Club Representatives and the League feel they both have a lot to offer.
The League signs up for the FA's Respect programme.
